Our Mission

Promote the achievements and aspirations of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln by engaging its students, alumni and friends.

Who we are

The Nebraska Alumni Association is a nonprofit organization that connects (or re-connects) alumni with their alma mater, and with each other, for the betterment of the university. Our family includes 60 alumni chapters and 25,000 members of all ages, professions and walks of life. Some are UNL graduates; some are not. They live in all corners of the country and the world. But one thing unites them-their love for the University of Nebraska.

What we do

Our members share a love for the university, a passion for its future, and a desire to make a difference. But more often than not, their interests lie in a variety of areas. Maybe it's athletics or the arts; scholarships, research or a specific college. Perhaps they want to get involved or volunteer, but aren't sure where to begin. That's where we come in. The alumni association offers dozens of programs, events and opportunities designed to engage all alumni and friends with their passions at the university. This alumni involvement inevitably leads to progress on campus.

Why we do it

As UNL faces cuts in state funding and economic challenges linger, an engaged, united alumni base is needed to continue pushing the university forward. And a stronger university means a stronger Nebraska, today and for future generations. The majority of Nebraska high school students who attend a four-year university choose to come to UNL. Many graduate and work or start businesses in Nebraska. Research funding and projects like the new Innovation Campus create Nebraska jobs. The economic strength of our state is, indeed, closely tied to the strength of the University of Nebraska.
